I just joined... so first, "hello" to everyone.
I've been fishing in primarily streams and small rivers in NW CT, catching primarily brook trout with my spin reels and rods. I wanted to move in to deeper water and go after rainbow and browns. My reels are the Daiwa Tatula LT 2000 and the Pflueger Supreme XT 3000. Both currently loaded with 8 & 10lb braid loaded. I want to be able to cast streamers, flies (with split shot) as well as spinners and spoons. And given what I'm after (browns)... what I'd like to cast... I'm trying to decide if I'd be better off with a Light/Fast action or Medium Light/Extra Fast Rod. I'm looking at 6'6" length.
Any feedback from those of you who have fished flies with a spinning rig would really be appreciated. Thanks.
