Salmon or trout? Im not too sure myself

Can somebody tell me if this is a trout or salmon? I think its a brown trout but I just got into trout fishing and im still learning how to id different species.

Does the tail look square or forked? The salmon have a dark back on them. This looks more like a brown.

I'm no trout guy, but I say Brown also, a salmon I think would be a bit more silver.

I'm no trout guy either but I'd say Brown,I'd also say you're doing pretty damn good if you're a beginner like you say you are.Nice fish!(Besides,I've never even actually seen an Atlantic Salmon,I'm from the Midwest!)
