Mathies Park Beacon Falls

Hit this pond in late aternooon. It is absolutely loaded with Yellow perch. My son Zachary (8 yrs old) caught a nice percjh and a sunny. Saw a school of perch that must have been at leat 50 fish. Good place for young kids to learn.

I live right down the street. It's a nice park.

I had a few hours before I had to do the mother’s day thing and because it was so windy I decide to go to mathies because its not far. I first got a sunny not to excited. I made my way to the back side of the pond and got a 10 inch pickerel and a small largemouth bass. Not to bad for a windy day and quick trip.

I was there last weekend and got a 17" pickerel down by the pumphouse.

Can I fish from shore there? If so where is the best spot?

Yeah you can fish from shore. You are suppose to be a resident of Beacon Falls but I have never seen anyone checking so I wouldn’t worry about it.
