Hit Plattwood Park in Deep River after work great action. I drilled the first hole, my Vexilar read 12' as my jig and spike reached 10' I got a solid red signal up to 10' and hooked my first fish. A few holes later I marked suspended fish at 8' I used my second rig with a little nipper and shiner and landed a nice crappie. This went on until dark. I averaged 4 to 6 fish per hole and drilled about 15 holes. If you like jigging panfish try this spot.

Way to go sandflea gotta love when the vex goes red Smile
Did you end up with more crappie?

Yes I went through 12 shiners. Caught about 5 most on little nipper.

The crappie would not hit the maggots? only shiners?? Hmmmm
what's a nipper by the way...I mean I know what a nip is Laughing

I'm pretty sure this is what he was using. The pictures a little fuzzy but you get the picture. The Little Nipper is a must-have, high-quality jig - a favorite for crappie, trout, and walleye, but also coming on strong as a hot steelhead lure!

Thanks Izzy, looks similar to most of my lead head jigs I have for jigging. Haven't heard of this specific brand/model

That's it and I agree it's a must have jig. I beleive the SLOW fall rate triggers the fish. Going back for round 2 today.
