That's a hell of a fish!!! I was thinking about going out last night too, thought the wind might quit after dark, but just couldn't risk it,not in a kayak, wind blowing like it was, just a little more than what is do-able.

How the heck can an old fart like you hold it steady and read a tape measure at nite on the river???......hundred throwbacks?.....thats not what Mark and Matt told me....you better get your stories straight next time!

Well since you don't communicate with Matt or Mark, that's a mute point.

Old fart like me will teach your son how to wrap a recoil spring and then go fishing.

While my eye site may be a bit deteriorated, and of course shaky hands from the night before, I still managed another keeper...36" this time, there, I set a goal for you....go get em furlough man.
Please note the light outfit.

You avoided the how many you got question eloquently !!

After swatting that fly on a flyby

Some so called professionals may say the only reason the stripers are up here is chasing bait, that's not the case, these stripers are up here breeding in the CT river heavily.

Wow Lung, another very nice fish! Looks like you're on your way to having great season this year! If my memory serves me correctly, you're already doing better than any of us did at all last spring in the river. (except possibly Mark,he did pretty good last year.) Congratulations! I just hope it holds up for awhile, I haven't even put any serious time in on them since you started boating all these fish...........I keep sayin you da man but somebody I know keeps given me greif when I do...............so I won't! Wink

Thanks there carp..definitely a much better year for me this year compared to last. Mark had a couple good nights at the end of May I believe which saved his year last year.

Well now Mr tbob, thank you sir for acknowledging my efforts, I expect many pics and reports from you next week.

The Shad derby is this weekend, that's why so many boats, that is over at the end of today.
Hit it again last night with Matt and Mark, Mark was with us only a couple hours but long enough for him to FINALLY get his keeper on an eel Razz . The top water bite was pretty hot just before dark once again for about an hour, I managed a couple shorts in the 22-24 range. Water has warmed up to 57 so top water should really pick up. Dark colored swimmers seemed to work the best for us.

Once it was dark top water dropped right off, went to the small plastics where I managed several short's, 2 that were 27"

tbob what's a rookie like me gonna teach a professional like yourself sheeeeesh.
Any tips hot or not you get first hand and in person, not no stink'n PM
