Where to go...

new to the New Haven area and would like to know where to shore/pier fish for flounder.

Hiya Ctfishinguy, welcome to the site. Sorry I can't be much help, I am more familiar with the New London area, but hopefully some of the guys down your area will chime in.

Not a problem - I don't usually get out by New London when I saltwater fish - I do go to Milford though (the "Housy") and if I go east, I'll go all the way to Narragansett, RI (off hazard ave) for Stripers and Blues - can't WAIT for that!
