Block Island is HOT!! Just got off the phone with fellow Capt. Joe Geraci. This morning his charter drifted eels for striped bass on the south side of Block Island. They started fishing at 4 am and caught their limit by 5:45 am. Catching a total of 30 fish by 8:15 am from 26-pounds as well as a 42-pounder The stripers were loaded with sea lice which indicates these are fresh run fish that have just migrated into the area. The cooler weather this spring and early summer has many fisheries a month or more behind than is normal. This should extend the season well into the fall of 2009.
