July 26 Stipers/Half PM
Capt. Ray reported another outstanding night of Striper fishing for a sold out crowd. There were many limits of nice Stripers with solid action all night long. It was complete mayhem but anglers and crew worked together and made it another incredible night. The Stripers were not as big as the previous night but most were in the teens with the best in the mid 20s and almost no shorts. A few blue fish mixed in as well. Capt. Ray looks forward to the next Striper trip Wed at 7pm aboard the Lady Frances. Capt. Chris had an excellent night of fishing last night down by the Charlestown Breechway on thePM 1/2 trip fishing some deeper waters he put anglers into some solid action with good size fluke. Even the throwbacks were big! Anglers put an excellent number of good size keepers in the 4 to 6 lb range in the boat plus a couple nice size sea bass.

July 25th All updates
Capt. Rich reported fishing vastly improved today although still not back to normal. Anglers did pick away at a mix of big fluke to 6 lbs and sea bass to over 5 lbs. Congrats to Stanley Vodraska from Albany,NY who took the pool honors today. Well done Stanley!! Anglers had more sea bass than fluke and a few anglers had upwards to a half dozen good size sea bass apiece. Capt. Rich looks forward to tomorrow's combo leaving at 7am aboard the Gail Frances. Capt. Chris reported an okay day of fluking on the 8am full day boat. Some nice fluke to 7 lbs and some nice sea bass before the tide change in the late morning and then things slowed up considerably. The water is still somewhat riled up from the big storm of two days ago. Things should be back to normal by tomorrow or Monday. Either Capt. Chris or Capt. Mike will be at the helm tomorrow morning for the 8am full day fluke trip. Capt. Don reported another incredible show put on by the lunging Finback Whales today. A big brood of dolphins feeding in the same zone made an incredible show even more memorable!! Plenty of sea birds of various kinds as well. Whale enthusiasts came back to the shop and simply described the trip as AMAZING!! Next Whale Watch is set to sail tomorrow at 1pm aboard the Lady Frances.

July 25 Striper update
Capt. Ray called in to say last night's Striper fishing may have been about the best ever in the history of the Frances Fleet with an awesome number of big Stripers boated. If not the best definitely in the top three! All night long a healthy group of anglers rods were doubled over up and down the rail along the entire length of the boat fighting big Stripers. The majority of the very respectable number of anglers aboard were limited out with many anglers catching 4 to 6 big bass each retaining only their limit as always. There were three big bass over 30 lbs to fight it out for the pool and too many 25 lbrs to count!!! Very few fish under 15 lbs and almost no throwbacks! A bunch of good size blue fish as well last night to top it off! Still openings for tonight's Striper trip. A special thanks to Capt. Ray, Nelson, Rob, Matt and Casey and customers aboard for making last night's trip the raging success it was! Everyone was cooperating and working with one another which is especially key when Striper fishing is red hot. Capt. Ray looks forward to tonight's Striper trip leaving the dock at 7pm aboard the Lady Frances.

July 24 the Fluke/seabass trip
Capt. Rich reported a very tough day of fishing. Nothing much else to say. A fair pull of marginal keeper sea bass and a couple jumbos around 3 lbs and a few keeper fluke plus one little blue fish. Drift conditions were not optimum at all. A day like today restores us all with humility. Capt. Rich hopes for much better tomorrow as fishing has been outstanding the past few weeks. All trips on per normal sailing schedule tomorrow.

July 24 schedule changes
Due to a weather update there will be only one full day fluke boat tomorrow leaving at 8am on the Gail Frances and returning at 330pm. Sailing schedule will resume back to normal for Saturday. Also the office will open at 6am tomorrow.

July 23rd Whales/7-4 full day/ Sharks
Capt. Rich reported another very good day of fishing for both big fluke and jumbo sea bass today. A nice mix of both today with several anglers dangerously close to their bag limit of fluke and anglers had upwards to a half dozen or more good size sea bass apiece. Biggest fluke for the day was 8 lbs and biggest sea bass was over 4 lbs. Longtime regular and fluke sharpie Mike T from Narragansett had five big fluke to take home and five jumbo sea bass including a brace of 5 lb fluke. That is a lot of 5's!! It was a very good day with all terminal tackle working equally today. Due to a weather update we will now run one full day fluke boat tomorrow aboard the Gail Frances leaving at 8am and returning at 330 pm. The AM half day is on as scheduled. Capt. Don reported it was not the most pristine weather day for Whale Watching but once again breeching Finbacks put on a great show for the whale enthusiasts aboard. Please give a call later tomorrow morning in regards to Whale Watching for tommorrow as there is some question on the weather. Capt. Paul reported his shark charter was a big success today with anglers catching a good number of good size blue sharks to 100 lbs and for awhile there was quite a bit of excitement as a big Mako was on the line but ultimately the Mako won the battle. The Capt. Frances is the perfect boat for small groups who are interested in private charters for shark fishing. If interested call the office for availability, pricing and open dates!! Capt. Paul also reported that his customers on the charter were treated to a great show by breeching Finback Whales as well. Capt. Paul said the Whales were just everywhere!!

July 23rd Striper/8- 3 Fluke and AM 1/2
Well the full details of last night's Striper trip are now available and the fishing was really incredible. At least six limits with anglers catching upwards to 5 big bass apiece retaining only there limit of course. There were three fish in the 30's and many others in the 20's. Tonight's Striper trip is cancelled due to the stormy weather forecast however we look forward to Striper fishing tommorrow night at 7pm aboard the Lady Frances. Capt. Mike reported a solid day of fluking today locally along Rhode Island's south shore. Everyone left with a mixed bag of big fluke, jumbo sea bass and platter size scup making for many good meals to come. Biggest fish was 6.5 lbs. Not as many shorts today but the keeper situation was very much improved!! Some anglers had upwards to a half dozen nice size sea bass apiece. Capt. Mike looks forward to tomorrow's full day fluke trip leaving at 8am aboard the Admiral Frances. Capt. Don reported an excellent AM half day trip this morning with a lot of jumbo fluke in the 5 to 6 lb range with the largest around 7 lbs. A nice mess of good size sea bass to nearly 3 lbs as well and all this was done very close to home.
