My first report of 2010:

Went over to stafford to check out some ponds and to stop by crystal lake bait and tackle. Drove by Crystal Lake: Open water only near private property and near dam(which was already occupied). Drove to Staffordville: They were still ice fishing. Drove up to New City Pond: Lots of no trespassing signs and completely iced over. Found some random millpond on the way back that didn't have any ice so I stopped by and took a few casts. Second cast got a pickerel half the size of the one in my profile picture. 15 minutes pass without any bites and I get hung up in a branch near the shore and a pickerel the same size as the one I caught attacked the lure and then swam off. Another 15 minutes passes by and I get another pickerel, same size as the last two. Nothing for another 10 minutes and I leave because of a family function Sad
Anyways, it was a good start to the season.

Almost forgot: the lure was a green rapala husky jerk about 5 inches long.

Cannot go wrong with the old HUSKY JERK!!! That's one of my go-to lures.(the silvery-green one,I think it's called Tennessee Shad)

Nice, a little bend in the rod for early spring and an assist for the pickerel on a snag Surprised
