Left the dock at dawn:30 this morning and headed out into flat seas. Near Race Rock, found surface feeding stripers and bluefish. Terns were also having a breakfast of sand eels. Fished a full sinking line in hopes of staying away from the bluefish and put the fly in front of larger stripers possibly feeding below the surface. My epoxy sand eel creation worked for both stripers and bluefish. The stripers ranges in size from 22 inches to the day's best of 31 inches. Bluefish were of the larger harbor size.-choppers in training. By 7 the fish stopped feeding on the surface and shutdown.
Stayed with the epoxy sand eel until a bluefish took my last one. Tried a olive flat-wing deceiver which also caught a couple of fish before feeding window was closed.
Checked a couple of rock piles on the way back with zeo success.
