Here's something I've been wondering about ever since I started fishing again.
Some plastic worms are scented with anise (the spice, not the orifice that could be compared to a septic tank discharge).
I can understand some of the smells, like the corn smell for trout, etc, those kind of make sense.
What in nature that a fish has access to, would smell like a licorice flavored liqueur !?!?!?!?
I think I figured it out.
Most of those anise scented ones are intended for bass and the like.
When I was in Williams Lake last week, I took some time to smell the flowers (literally).
The white/yellow flower of a water lily smells much like those plastic worms.
If that's not the answer I will remain baffled for the rest of my days.
