I've caught Carp in the CT river during the summer but will they also bite in the colder water in early spring. I can't wait to get out and was thinking that it sure would be fun to get a few of them before trout fishing starts. Any sugestions. Thanks.

Yes they bite even in the winter but very hard to find them. Now they are starting to bite more since the weather is warming up.

Try the Northwest end of a pond. That is where the sun warms the pond this time of year.

Once the Mattabassett drops from flood stage, Look for bugle- lips in the shallows. Excellent fishing from behind Walmart of 372 to the confluence with the CT river in Middletown.

Spent three hours from 9 to midnight behind the Duncan donuts on rte 3 in cromwell. Only thing was a 10 inch eel! Perhaps when the water warms a bit? Will explore river more towards the Ct. river.
