I got this baby from the tma on the naugatuck river, 23 inches and just about 5 lbs. Im just not sure what it is.Trout or salmon? any help would be cool!!!
im not sure this helps or even means anything but this fishes pectoral fins seemed like they were completely worn down and gone.Just humps where they should have been
i can't agree that this is a brook trout. If it was a book trout the belly would be more of a dark red/brown color and the fins would have the white on the side closest to its head. The fins in this pic are a yellow color
What you have here is clearly a young adult brown trout I catch them all the time.It is absolutely not a brook trout, this bad boy here has a hooked jaw and might be sun run if youre near the shore.Lets be absolutely certain that here is a properly a German (Stell) warm water tolerant holdover....there should be more and bigger.
