I saw this report from Rivers End Tackle the other day

TOMCOD ... This is the first time in 15 years or so that we've got reports of consistent catches of the at the mouth of the Connecticut River. These are not small codfish but a different species. They are caught on worms or clams, don't get over a pound or so and are good to eat.

Wow, good to hear about consistant Tomcod being caught. The Thames River was a good spot, historically; I wonder if those tackle shops are recieving similar reports as at the mouth of the Connecticut R. The Angler's Guide lists the Marine HQ dock (CT River) as a location to catch these fish.

I've been reading about these fish for a few years now and have come across some interesting info regarding Tomcod evolution over the past few decades. I didn't think it was relevent to post here, so I've posted it in a blog.
