Spent a few hours flukin this AM. Strong NW wind with the tide so we drifted very fast. Fished a big harbor a bit west of Branford. Stayed in about 20 feet. Smelt, squid and sand eels for bait. Caught a dozen, 3 keepers (one BIG one), 2 blues, 4 sea robins. Got boarded. The CG has a new, awesome cutter there. Big,with a big machine gun and 2 825 horsepower engines. No violations. There are scattered schools of bait fish all over the place. Look like small bunkers.
