Global Warming? Climate Change? Who knows for sure what's going on throughout the world weather-wise?

What I can tell you is that saltwater fishing is nothing short of terrific. And, for parents and grandparents of young children, there is some really good news.

Snapper blues are starting to show up.

Water temperatures in the Western Sound are in the high 60s and low 70s. Migratory fish, especially bluefish, appear to be spawning early.

Many anglers and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) are reporting some catches of snapper or baby bluefish in many of the tidal rivers and are about 3 to 5 inches long. This is definitely an early arrival for these guys!
