Headed out of Niantic mid morning today with a friend fisherman, not my time of day to go...but hey, I was a boat ho. Headed out to millstone outflow...to find a pack of boats and catching harbor blues. We tried to maneuver through the boats but didn't have much luck.
Headed out towards Bartletts and found a small area where the birds were working, thought blues. Threw out a pink mambo and first cast but surprise 22" schoolie tried a bit more with no takers but scattered surface breaks where happening. I swithed over to about a 4" storm shad...first cast bang...good fighting fish, boated the fish 30" yes! a keeper. My partner landed a 24" as well during the little action we found.
Didn't do much the rest of the day back to Millstone outflow managed a couple Harbor blues and back in for us..a short but succesful trip.
