Headed out just after 6AM Sunday and found birds working the rip line just north of the spindle at Bartletts. Picked up a few stripers to 32 inches. Fishing was similar to Wednesday's report. Stripers are keyed on butterfish, but bluefish will take about anything thrown at them.
After about an hour or so headed south to Little Gull. Bluefish were busting in the rip at both end of the island. May have been some stripers, but we could't get anything past the blues. Fish ran 7-12 pounds. Good spot to use junk flies. After we tired of fighting the blues on fly tackle, we switched up to hookless J plugs on spinning rods. The bklues would crash the plug, hold it in theior teenth and release it only to have another blue take it.
At one point we sawa a set of fins cruiing in the deeper water outside of the rip. Possible blue sharks looking for a meal of bluefish.
