Entry fee $20.00 each participant. Check in will be 6am to 8am.
Derby hours 8am to 2pm
1. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and can fish only with the adult’s equipment, i.e. the 5 tip-ups and 1 jigging rod or 6 tip-ups. No other fishing equipment can be used.
2. The Derby will be held from the State Boat Launch are, where the scales will be maintained all day.
3. All fish must be alive when presented to the scales. Dead fish will not be recorded for any prize. It will be the responsibility of each participant to have their fish recorded while it is still alive. Winning fish will be subject to dissection. Decision of the judges will be final. All fish may be released alive.
4. State fisheries regulations must be obeyed. Legal minimums; Trout 16”, Bass, 16” Pickerel, 15”. Each contestant will only be allowed to possess no more than 2 bass, 2 trout, or five pickerel.
5. Use of motorized vehicles will not be allowed on or off the ice by any participants. NO fish will be weighed in that has been brought to the scales in a motorized vehicle.
6. Each contestant must register at the scales for identification into the Derby, even if they have pre-registered.
7. ALL contestants must leave from the State Boat Launch with their equipment and from no other location on the lake. No one may use a motorized vehicle to reach the other end of the lake.
8. Grills and stoves only, i.e. gas grills and Coleman type stoves only. No charcoal or open fires per Town ordinance.
9. Fishing will be restricted to 1st and 2nd bays only. No entrants are allowed beyond the second/third Bay Narrows
10. In the event of a tie, the prize for the tied places will be combined and split evenly between the winners.
11. The winning fish will be determined by the heaviest individual fish. All species of fish native to the lake are eligible.
12. Violation of any of these rules will be grounds for disqualification and forfeiture of all entry fees.
13. No participants will be allowed on the ice to dig holes, set up equipment, or stake out areas before the 8AM starting signal.
