Pequot Pond(one of the Hampton Ponds) is a fertile, 198 acre, coldwater pond located 4.3 miles northeast of Westfield off Route 202. Access is a stone launch ramp provided by the Division Forests and Parks. It is suitable for trailer launching. The pond is characterized by clear water with a transparency of 13 feet and a mean and maximum depth of 15 feet and 31 feet respectively. The bottom is sand and gravel. There are three miles of shoreline, 75% of which is developed. Emergent aquatic vegetation covers about five percent of the surface area. Fish Populations: bluegill, pumpkinseed, chain pickerel, largemouth bass, yellow bullhead, brown bullhead, rainbow trout, white perch, yellow perch, American eel, some pike and tiger muskellunge.

This pond receives an ample stocking of trout both spring and iali and it has enough holdover potential to produce a few trophy fish. The chain pickerel population is laso good with above average growth rates. Overall, however, the general fish population is dominated by stunted sunfish. The largemouth bass population appears overfished, but contains some good fish.
