Spy Pond 7-5-09
Went to Spy Pond this afternoon in the kayak after a long hiatus from kayak fishing (rain, sick kid, mother-in-law, you-name-it... but man, it was good to get out again!). Fished from 4 pm to a little after 6. Very windy. Not feeling it today. I caught a couple small yellow perch on a rapala, but was having trouble finding the bass. Couldn't make up my mind what to throw at them, either. Finally, after 5:30, the wind died down a bit and I picked up 3 bass in rapid succession on a jitterbug over weeds near shore. Unfortunately, as usual, just as things started picking it was time to leave... No pics today, largest bass was barely 11".
