Water Temp, No Rod Holders 1 Fish

8/7/11 Went out on Richmond Pond at around 5:00 pm on sunday. After getting out on the deep end of the pond the water temp read at 80 degrees. So obviously every fish was deep.

We started to troll around the deep end with some deep diving cranks. No rod holder so we had the poles just lying in the boat. My lure gets hits line wraps around something in the boat before i notice i pull back SNAP!! goes the line.

I re-line and throw another crank bait out. Get a decent yellow perch withing seconds. (Pic will be up when my phone actually sends an e-mail). Switch cranks after a 30-45min period with no hits. (Notice my reel has very little line left on it.) Lure gets hit i pull back to hear SNAP!! all my line had been pulled out and my line snapped at the knot i used to tie it to the reel. DOH!

I got off the lake just in time to avoid a downpoor. Maybe a week worth of rain we are suppose to get will lower the water temps a bit and i remember to buy line for my reel.
