Cool place. The little creek section east of the Norman Road unimproved launch is really quiet and peaceful -- lots of wildlife and some good fishing holes -- weeds, grass, downed trees, etc. A lot to maneuver your boat around though.
Tried a lot of different tactics on July 31 early morning, and got a few LMB in the 1-2 lb range on a Rapala minnow. A blue/black lizard Texas-rigged got a couple strikes but didn't manage a hookset on those.
Fished the main lake for the first time today, and i did ok but the river section is much better. Two people on jet ski's were all over the place and making plenty of noise. The shores are shallow, and the lake overall is not so deep. Blue black worms were the color of the day with watermelon was taking a few hits but not closing the deal. The lake is great for a paddle and has some great shore. This place would be great in the spring before the weeds take over.
Its a good looking place John but its a trek no matter how I map it out ....best shot is straight down rt2 but that means messing with Hartford I hate running through there with the trailer on
this pond is great on good days. I have yet to get into the main pond but the small river section is wonderful. Make sure to bring some jigs.
Most of the shoreline around the pond is privately owned, but there is a small "unimproved" boat launch on Norman Road.
