i updated the species list to inclued chain pickerel. There are a ton of them in this lake. Some are very large so i see how someone could be confused. Very close in mouth but the coloring is very different. The pattern looks like a chain link fence.
there are no pike in lake brandagee
there are a lot of people that fish this lake due to the easy access, and location next to the mall. I went there to kill some time while the wife was shopping. They pull a lot of smaller fish from the north end. I have only caught three small bass on the south end, all less than a pound.
This lake is accessed from two areas mostly. If you park at Chuck-E-Cheese, and walk to the dam, there is shore access on most of the west side, but there is a lot of trash and it is very shallow. The other access is off the road on the north end of the lake. There is almost no legal place to park, and there are a lot of locals that fish in the three cleared sections in the trees. I have yet to find a good and legal place to launch a boat or cannoe, but i dont recomend running a gas motor due to the shallow depth.
