Fished breakneck today from just before daybreak to about 2pm. Things started off dark and cold but turned out to be a very good day.

To start the 1.3 mile hike in was uneventful as was the other half a mile of walking on the lake to my desired spot. Wind flipped on and off, it was either no wind or 15+
There was 5 1/2 inches of ice and it was slick, good thing I brought the Creepers!

Things started off slow with a few chew an screws and then I get the first fish on, first fish of 09 a little but healthy Large Mouth, about 15 inches. This procedure kept up throughout the morning with an occasional chew and screw and plenty of large mouth, think I ended up with 8 all together a few in the 3lb range(no comment from the peanut gallery). I was able to jig up some small crappie, sunfish, and yellow perch along with a few larger specimens of each. I also ended up with 2 pickerel in the 20 inch range.

It was rather nippy out there today but the walk in and out is plenty warming.
Have some pictures of Large Mouth that I'll put up tomorrow.

The crappie never turned on like I had hoped, was hoping to catch some dinner plates but they never showed up and I definitely spent some time looking. Maybe it was high pressure? Who knows. Maybe I'll hit a different spot next time.

One of the smaller ones 15in

The pictures are kinda shitty but I did what I could manage.
