My son caught this fish in the CT RIVER in Portland CT and can not find any info on what kind of fish this is! Or a web site i could look it up at! Thanks! Go Fish

Meatball places the Bowfin at Portland. Has anyone heard of them further south on the river? Prior to this, Glastonbury was the furthest south I've heard of.

I must say that this is a sharp-looking Bowfin. It seems to have a "double eye-spot" on the caudal peduncle and bright green not only on the paired fins, but on the lower shanks of the body. It may be spawning time for bowfin.

It`s a bow fin, caught one of those while in FLA while seeing my parents.

we cought one on our trip to black lake NY and had not a clue what it was when we hauled it in. We nicknamed it a devil fish, and it still holds that name when we fish Wink
