Candlewood

Has anybody Ice Fished Candlewood?

Hiya John, I have never open water or ice fished it. It provides some awesome fishing from what I have read.

The place is so huge it intimidates me to even try fishing it, not to mention it is a haul for me also.

Hopefully someone here knows a little about it.

I fished it once around echo bay, there are little places you can pull off and park. I'd have to look at a map again to point you to the right area, but there were perch there, lots of perch. That was before I really got into icefishing though, i had malfunctioning tip ups and i didnt jig yet. If you go to that area set your tip ups right, and jig like you mean it that place will produce some nice numbers and size yellow perch. Depending on where you set up you can get nice smallmouth too.
