BRIDGEPORT -- After years of casting, the city has landed a big fish for the Steel Point waterfront redevelopment.
Mayor Bill Finch and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's office confirmed to Hearst Connecticut Newspapers Thursday that Bass Pro Shops, a destination for fisherman, boaters, outdoor enthusiasts and tourists across the nation and in Canada, will be Steel Point's first tenant.
The governor and the mayor will make a formal announcement at the property at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
