Went out yesterday to one of our usual spots off of East Rip. There were a lot of boats out there, but the fluke were hitting. I got three in the first few minutes. But, they weren't very big so I went off to deeper water.
I did end up getting some bigger fluke and had a good one on the line. It turns out it was 18 1/2", BUT it had had its tail either bit or cut off. I should have gotten at least a couple of inches from that.

If there was a DEP boat around, I would have asked for a ruling.
I had another one on the line. This one was aggressive and went right to the surface until it jumped out of the water. Obviously, that wasn't a fluke. I got another aggressive hit and brought in a 21" blue fish. I never had blue fish going after my fluke rigs, but I guess they will go for anything...
A good day, but I got screwed on my keeper.
