I agree. That's why I try to add as much useful entertainment banter as I can without overloading the ""OLD bamboo fishing pole geezers" Again?

Yes...plenty of good info here but sometimes some of us just cant resist taking a potshot here and there....having said that,I would not fire off at someone I dont know,so Pramsey you are good for now until we fish together sometime!.....Now Pops as far as "being sensitive" about my age, hogwash I say!.....everybody says I look 10 years younger than you so I am content with that!Bwahahaha.

'Everybody' ?? Your friends at the senior center don't count, so that takes care of that.
And seeing that it took you an hour to come up with that ever so witty reply, your once not so quick wit has yet been slowed some more Razz
And since this post was about sunglasses, please try and stay on topic by telling us what power sunglasses you are using?? and if they are polarized??

...having said that, I would not fire off at someone I dont know, so Pramsey... .

Since I have never met any of you outside of this web site I should not do that. Idea However, something just occurred to me. Since fishermen are traditionally pathological liars, how can any of us believe anything that any of us say? We will never know! Or will we? If anyone is looking for me I will be on the porch at the Old Sailors Home in a rocking chair, dreaming about that time I was with Ahab chasing Moby! But first, I am going to Cabela's to by a pair of yellow, copper or amber Cocoons.............. Idea and one of those inexpensive keeper lanyards so I won't lose them!

Am going to be considered to be an old geezer when I turn 50 in September.

Posted Thu Aug 05, 2010 11:50 am

Yea 50 is a tough one...you have another month to be a young stud Cool

OK Mr.Exalted Moderator,... back on topic....I have the polarized sunglasses that they sell at Wallymart in the fishin dept....but the big plus is they have a built in magnifier built in across the bottom...great for us "old guys".

pramsey, what town you live in?....with your humor you sound like someone I would like to fish with sometime.

Posted Thu Aug 05, 2010 12:52 pm

I'm not at that ripe OLD age of 50 yet, but the glasses with the built in magnifier is something I need to go pick up. Getting harder to thread line through hook eye. I myself have used amber lenses without issue, but yellow seems to be the vote here. Time to try something different.

Since I recently broke my progressive-trifocal-transition glasses and I am limited to my old singlefocal (I just made that term up) transition glasses, which makes it hard to read the fine print on the tags and other stuff, I am going to wait for the replacements to come in and then I am going to Cabela's for the Cocoons.
I will provide a full report when the nurses let me out of the straight jacket.
P.S. I posted the picture of me in the interest of FULL disclosure.

lost 2 pairs?....not too mention the cell phones and cameras!!!.....plus all the fish you lose.....plus all the deepdivin crankbaits.......bwahahahaahahah.

......................................................Dude, YOU JINXED ME!!!!
I wrecked my cellphone in the surf on my vacation! (forgot it was hooked to my beltloop, it was a picture perfect day on a picture perfect beach, the water was warm and I couldn't help myself, had to get in the surf while casting my "Deadly Dick", DOH!)

Posted Sat Aug 14, 2010 9:44 pm

thereya go AGAIN....you and cell phones and any kinda water just dont get along.....one of these days you will figure that out!hahaha.

I agree with the bi focal fishing glasses being useful, but I find the lenses to big making them a bit bulky on the face. They do help tie the knots for us peole with failing vision, now if they could only come up with something to help fingertips with no sensation...I dont know if any one else suffers from this but its almost immposible for me to thread thin line...

Now that I have my progressive-trifocal-transition glasses replaced, my next purchase will be some yellow tints (either clipons or fit-over-rx's)
