A friend went out on the Farmington River between the CT and Loomis pool, they got 7 shad, 2 salmon, a striper and a elwife.

We focused up river and were not fishing for shad, shad are definitely in, have heard and have seen first hand shad being caught.
Nice to hear 2 salmon

Had some success on the CT in Haddam, but landed a Pike, not a striper!

Was really not in my plans to do any fishing today, however an invite came along at about 2pm and I had a small window of available time to work with. Hit the river with Skipperj9 on his boat, I was throwing white zoom flukes with a light 1/4 oz orange lead head. boated about 15 schoolies...these were babies though...most about 13" with a couple maybe 16" fun on the very light gear I was using.
Skipper put a few in the boat himself...but just a few Smile
We again were fishing north of Hartford in about 4-8 FOW

They be here, early run this year.
If you follow the site you know where I fish.
Small schoolie plastic is what this girl fell for.
You can see the lure and the light outfit used in the second picture.

When I saw and heard of the shad being caught so early I knew the stripers were with them, and then I saw this article Big O posted

Thanks for the atta boys, even though all indicators said there should be big fish in the area, I really never expected to get one this early especially on the schoolie set up.
